I've been breastfeeding DD pretty happily for the past 17 months, but to be honest I now really want to stop, not least because she's turning into a bitey little monster.
Whilst feeding from the left breast she tends to clamp down with her teeth and grind, occasionally livening things up further by nipping or pulling away while digging her teeth in further. She always leaves teeth marks and sometimes breaks the skin.
As a result that breast is so sore I'm really reluctant to feed from it - for some reason she doesn't do it to the right one. Saying "no! Don't bite" has no effect, trying to break the latch just makes her clamp down more, and holding her head closer eases the pain slightly but doesn't make her stop.
Does anyone have any suggestions, I'm getting really fed up? And while I'm on the subject, how do I stop feeding a milk monster with no interest in self weaning when "don't offer, don't refuse" would lead to her feeding for about 20 hours a day?!
