DD will be 2 very soon. I was feeling sad as ever since she was born I kept imposing limits for stopping BF... 6m, 9m, 12m, 18m...... 2y. So DP and I talked last night and decided just to keep going for as long as we (me and DD) both want to. How long that will be, I don't know. But it is good to feel that we aren't in a rush. Especially as DD is allergic to milk, so doesn't have a lot of dietary sources of calcium. Plus she loves BF, it is a really nice way to settle her for the night especially as I work full time so don't have as much time focussed on her as I would like.

Thanks Mumsnet for keeping me going in the early days and also for making me feel comfortable about extended BF.

That's brilliant :) How lovely for you both that you can go on as long as you're both enjoying it. Nice to have the support from your DP too.

Excellent, good for you and your DP. To me, there's something really magical about feeding past 2 - I used to love coming in from work/nursery and just reconnecting instantly. My own heartrate would slow down and I would suddenly see the stresses of the day with the proper perspective Grin
