How to force feed 6mo

6 mo (mix fed but now about 80% bottle) been weaning for a few weeks wakes every night more or less three hours after going to bed (so about three and a half hours after last bottle) crying desperately. He downs 60ml milk (from a bigger bottle) then goes back to sleep. He never finishes his pre bed bottle though. Any ideas how to force feed (joke!) him an extra 60ml pre bed and prevent this wake up?

Sorry but waking at 6 months is perfectly normal. Are you offering solids yet? Are you offering solids about an hour after milk?

Could you do some milk pre bath and some more after?

Once you start weaning some sort of porridge (whatever cereal/carb type food is recommended these days ...) might help.

But, yes, as PP says, this is well within the normal spectrum.

He'll probably wake up whether he has that 60ml or not.But you could try a dream feed 2.5hours after bedtime?

Are you feeding solids at lunch or dinner time? If your are giving solids at dinner time, maybe move them forward to lunchtime so baby is hungrier before bed?

Or if he is waking at roughly the same time every night maybe you could try a dream feed just before this time?

jilted is right though, at 6m night waking is still pretty normal.

Good luck!
