Possible tmi but looking for advice. I'm still feeding DD on demand (when I'm around, I work full time!) and this morning when she fed my left nipple felt sore, it sort of felt like she'd bitten me but she hadn't. I finished the feed and she'd already had the other side but even after she'd finished it was still sore. I gave it a poke, like you do, and it felt hard and bruised. It's been sore all day. But I noticed after school this evening that both nipples were sore. I fed her when I picked her up, as she demands it the second I walk through the door, and it was very very painful. And then has been very painful ever since, especially in contact with clothing. I had to unlatch my bra in the car and strip off when I got home. Both nipples are quiet pink and swollen, the left more than the right, but both swollen. I'm reluctant to feed her again as it was the feeding that brought on the real pain this evening but I can't just not feed her, then I'll be in pain from not feeding! I spoke to a nice lady at NCT who was quite baffled to be honest. It tick some thrush boxes but not all, and DD shows no symptoms of thrush. My concern is work tomorrow! I can't exactly teach topless! Anybody any ideas? Any clues or tips? Anything I can do?! Please!!!!

Could it be something hormonal? Are you pregnant or are your periods restarting?

JesuslovesmethisIknow · 26/06/2013 20:13

I gt this when PREGNANT ouchy

JesuslovesmethisIknow · 26/06/2013 20:14

it was agony ! I nearly stopped but didnt (and ended up tandem feeding oh well lol)

Maybe she is getting molars and it has affected the latch? So she's feeding at a unusual angle maybe.

I would go see GP and see what they say though

In the meantime rub breastmilk into your nipples before and after a feed

I'm definitely not pregnant or ovulating and periods restarted ages ago so not that either. And her molars are through. I will maybe try and make an appt at the gp tomorrow.
