Any tips for expressing?

I'd like to try my baby on a bottle of expressed milk and get her used to a bottle, I'm sure at some point it would be nice to have a bit of time to myself! She's 5 weeks at the moment.

Is there a best time to express/give her the bottle? How much would be a whole feed?

Any top tips are greatly appreciated! Thanks

For me first thing in the morning was best.

Oddly I got on best when I was no where near the baby.

First thing on the morning for me too. I'm ok having her around. Now I've got the hang of it I feed her one side and express the other! If doing it without baby feeding though its best to do it at least an hour after feeding. I usually get 2.5-3oz off and DD takes about 3oz from a bottle ATM (she's 10 weeks). Do you have a pump?

I do have a pump it's the lactaline double pump, borrowed from a friend, she said its really good and she expressed a lot for when she went back to work.

I'll give it a go over the weekend, thanks.

Good plan. Also make sure you have a drink to hand when you're expressing, tends to help me! Just relax and get into the swing of it to start with :)
