... can your supply of breast milk be affected by sleeping on your tummy?

I know it's a stupid question but I was just wondering!

dont think so, but your boobs may hurt.

NotQuiteCockney · 01/06/2006 08:32

I think it can help cause mastitis or blocked ducts.

Tight bras can cause blocked ducts, so I guess sleeping on your front could too.

You might find it uncomfortable - and put a towel underneath you as you probably will leak! Smile

I've found that i seem less full if I sleep on my front. I try to avoid it as i want to be able to give ds a big breakfast.

Oh, not such a silly question then!
I am expressing while I'm at work for DD to have milk at the CM's and I've been struggling over the past couple of weeks. I have only recently been sleeping on my front again (had a section and found it difficult to sleep on my front for several months) and wondered if it was connected.
Back to sleeping on my side then!
