Evening feeds not going so well.

My baby is 1 month old! I'm breastfeeding her and all is going well with that. I've been on here and to the dr's about her being sick and reflux has been diagnosed and we have gaviscon-getting her to take that is difficult but she's taking some. Anyway, the evening feeds she's really cluster feeding, fine I understand that but she's very unhappy the whole time now. Crying and struggling and not feeding well. She's very windy at this time especially but it's a vicious circle isn't it and I don't know whether she crying because of wind or getting wind from crying! Could this be reflux, should I get some infacol or is it just a phase?!

Thanks

My baby has reflux and colic too. We're giving her gaviscon (via medicine dummy which she's actually taking as opposed to the syringe where virtually all of it ended up her front...) and Infacol. Both seem to be having an effect and she's a lot calmer in the evening. We're also stopping mid feed to burp her and have propped up her crib. Also keeping her upright for at least 20 minutes after a feed.

Hopefully some of those will be new that you can try. Good luck with it all-it's such a tough time.

My DS was very much like that so you have my complete sympathy. Vacant remember your other threads so sorry if I'm repeating, was just wondering if Lo has been checked for tongue tie?

Is there a local bfing support group you could go to? It might be worth talking this through with a BFC and getting her to observe a complete feed [snile]
