green poo!

So I'm ebf my 2 month old and a couple of days ago we started having green poo. I know this can be a foremilk vs hind milk issue so I've been making a conscious effort to keep him longer on one boob for him to finish off.

The poo has gone from dark green to light green - is this the right way or is it getting worse, or not matter. How long do I leave this before calling someone I.e. HV, GP etc?

Anything else I can be doing? He is pretty windy and I'm trying gripe water. I also have a lotof milk and I wonder if I'm making so much foremilk and he's too full by the time we get to the fatty stuff. Should I express some of the earlier stuff off, keep on one boob for a couple if feeds? He also got conjunctivitis yesterday and not sure if this is related or not, poor baba.

Any help appreciated as I'm loving bf and don't want it to be going wrong.

are his cheeks red, or is he gnashing on his fists?

might be teething

RiotsNotDiets · 15/06/2013 17:19

Oh, also squirt some milk in his eye to treat the conjunctivitis Smile

No, no red cheeks. Is 8 weeks too young to teeth?

Wil try the milk on his eyes, thanks.

No, my MIL was born with teeth.

I would stick with what you're doing tbh, keep to one boob per feed and feed for longer, it may well be a lack of hind milk but you're doing the right things to deal with it.

The problem with the early months IIRC is you can't really tell yet when you need to switch. DD is 2 and a half now and I feel slightly itchy and actually a bit irritated when it's time to stop/switch!
