I feel guilty :(

Ds is 6 1/2 months and is still waking 3+ times a night as well as feeding to sleep so I thought I'd give 'sleep training' a go. I fed him to sleep and he woke when I put him down. Instead of getting him out and trying again I thought I'd try to let him settle himself. I didn't leave his side but he still got really upset and banged his head on the cot. I feel awful! I don't know how long I can go on being so tired before I snap. He's got worse since I started weaning. I thought that might help at least a little bit not make it worse.

Thanks for reading guys. I needed to get that off my chest Smile.

Same here. 7 months next week. I have no answers but am in the same boat!

My DS still (breast) fed every 2 hours when I went back to work at 9 months. He's now 18 months and not only doesn't feed overnight but for the last week has rejected a feed at bedtime.

I've not done anything to help this (not that I judge anyone for doing it - the tiredness is a killer) - just wanted to say that this too will pass, and I thought it never ever would!

There's always something to feel guilty about as a parent...

Thanks Pottering. It's reassuring to know it will pass eventually!

Ds is awake again!! He is so tired all the time as he isn't a great mapper either. It's strange because he's cut down a lot on his day feeds. He must be making up for it in the night!
