Being mauled by 8mo while I feed him!

In the last couple of weeks my 8mo has started 'exploring' as I bfeed him - pinching my skin, scratching me, pulling my hair, pulling back and trying to pinch my nipple - I realise he is too young to be doing this with any sort of intent, but its uncomfortable and I hate it, I feel somehow violated!

I don't remember going through this with my first DC - is this a short phase? Can I discourage it? I used to love b'feeding him, now I dread it Confused

You can get nursing necklaces which babies can fiddle with whilst feeding instead of harassing you. Don't know if they are any good but it might be worth a try.

My ds likes to stick his fingers in my mouth, up my nose if I'm not paying attention, pull my hair, scratch me... It's a delight.

My 6mo has begun doing this. I have been gently disengaging hid fingers from my nipple and saying "be nice". It's not really working...

DD did this until I stopped feeding her at 2 because she was bruising me daily.

She used the nursing beads as a weapon.

I wish I had some useful advise!

Thank you... I think! Rather depressing to think this might continue until I wean him, I didn't really want to do that any time soon Confused I'll have a look at the nursing necklaces, thank you.

DD (7 months) does the same thing. I give her a muslin or a soft toy (the same one she naps with) to maul instead. It works well.

Not sure if swaddling would help an older baby?
