Mastitis question

I'm on my third round of mastitis now and I'm really, really ill with it this time, I think because both sides are infected.

I started on oral antibiotics yesterday (prescribed over the phone by the OOH GP), but only realised today that I think it's both sides. Is treatment different for bilateral mastitis or do I just plug on with the oral antibiotics?

(Yes, I'm expressing, hot baths, canbage leaves, DS is 12 months etc. It's caused by me having to work FT and not always able to express, plus trying to night wean.)

How many days antibiotics did they give? I thought I had three successive lots but now think it never really went. I got five days worth each time, then later read it should be up to fourteen days to really work. I think the treatment will be the same. Are you massaging? I put the pump on, then rubbed from chest to nipple in circles for as long as I could stand.

My sympathies, it's a bugger!

Five days. I've had it left boob, right boob, now both boobs. I do think it cleared fully after each bout with a five day course.

I had a rough start to BFing so I've got a high threshold when it comes to boob pain. It's the general feeling of shitness and spiking temps rendering me bedbound that's annoying me, especially since we're getting our sunshine quota for the year!
