Reasonably priced nursing dresses?

Where is the best place to get everyday nursing dresses that are reasonably priced? Preferably ones that have a good sized 'opening' for feeding-some of the ones I've seen are tiny and, um, I'm not Grin

Honestly your better with regular clothes; layers are your friend to avoid that whole boob out look.

I got a fabulous black wrap dress from babes with babies. Well priced. Washes well and can be dressed up n down. Looked v smart on my first day back at work but could also be worn with flip flops and a denim jacket for casual look.
I got a jojo mama bebe summer dress in the sale (check out eBay too) but I'm not sure how flattering it was for my shape. Someone else I saw in the nautical stripe dress looked far more glamourous!!

Also check out the site called Izzys mum.

However I found i already had dresses which worked and flattered me so I don't have many bf specific ones. One dress Had a scoop neck and I can scoop my boobs out the top if nec!!!! Otherwise keep an eye out on the high street for wrap dresses (there were loads last time I looked) & check how practical they are for bf.
I have to wear a little vest under most of these dresses to protect my modesty. (Strappy Vests from H&M or primark are best - easy to pull out of the way)

Thanks Trying ill have a look where you've suggested :)

Gracie I'm layering up when wearing trousers or skirts but I'm not sure how you'd do it with dresses? Most dresses u own wouldn't pull down at the front and I can't really hike it up?

I got some nice v neck fake wrap dresses from white stuff that I can open the neckline in. When you get the hang of feeding you'll be able to spot what styles work. I'd get my boob out in the changing room to check :)

Oops sorry for some reason I thought you weren't feeding yet. If you try some on you'll find a style that works. I've not seen a nursing dress worth the money.

I buy dresses with a deep v neck/ stretchy neckline and pull them down. You'll find me in shops fondling the clothes to figure out their stretchiness; jersey works well.

I got one from JoJo but I thought the quality of the material was not worth what I paid for it. It did have decent sized holes in it though.
I got a nice dress from white stuff, it had about 4 buttons at the bust. I wear a vest underneath it - I cut the vest in half so it is cropped to just below the bust line. I open the buttons and lift the vest up on one side to cover the top of my breast.

weeblueberry · 10/06/2013 10:40

Thanks both. I've been looking for dresses with buttons but they all seem to be designed with either an older lady or a skinny minx in mind and I'm neither Grin

I second the white stuff suggestion, they have quite a few that work.

oh, and someone on a similar thread I started in style & beauty recommended a Matalan one which is only £8 - comes in 4 colours with a large flower print. it's strappy with a crossover bust style.

I bought a v neck dress from Tu in Sainsburys the other week for a wedding. It isn't a wrap dress but the v neck is a slight wrap over iykwim?

Mamas & Papas have a sale on at the moment and I got a tea dress style dress half price at £19 lastt week too.

Hi there
I've been shopping a lot to get good functional wardrobe that i can still use after breastfeeding! Second the wrap dress idea. Also look for grandad neckline, they have buttons or poppers that go I waist so can get a boob out at a time. I got a perfect white sleeveless top with buttons to empire line from sainsburies last week. Also loving dresses with gathered elasticated bust area and shoulder straps you tie each time, great for access! Got a long one from matalan the other day for £10!! Also shirt dresses work. If you go to a website like la redoute and search for 'detachable straps' there will be some options there. Happy shopping!!
