Baby has cold- do I pump?

Hiya

Just wondering what people tend to do when little one is off their food? Fairly sure she's teething plus full of a cold. She's not really triggered that much if a let down since 4am so now wondering if I should get pumping?

She ate a little solids and took a little water but not her usual self at all. She's 6 and a half months so I need to keep my supply up right?

How long before you usually reach for the pump?

I didn't, just keep on feeding and offering regularly, when her appetite comes back your supply will increase too. Hope she's better soon.

I hate expressing SO much. Did a little pump to put in her mash for a bit of relief but even like this I barely get anything.

I've only pumped once when DS1 had a cold and that was more for my own comfort (I felt like I was about to burst after a couple of missed feeds!) than needing to keep up supply - it did provide a handy extra couple of feeds for the freezer as a side benefit.

Yeah she loved her some boob milk mash today. Realised I probably should be adding this in place of dairy anyway.

You can give her dairy in food now - she'll be having stuff like yoghurt which is dairy so using full fat milk in stuff is ok.

Just keep feeding on demand and your supply will cope!
