So, following a questionable BBQ at the weekend, the whole family has d&v. In my case, I was puking this morning, and since then haven't been able to stray far from the loo...I've eaten a bit of toast and drunk as much water as I can, but will this affect my supply? Dd is 7 weeks old and feeds non-stop! Anything I can take/do to speed recovery?

I think you can get something from pharmacy to help replace the lost salts and rehydrate you which will help. diorlite or something like that its called. Get well soon Thanks

Yes get some dioralyte to help keep your electrolytes up.

Your supply will be fine. I fed my then 20 month old dd1 while I had D&V, she had it too so was feeding every hour, my supply increased to match demand even though I wasn't eating.

When you feel like eating and drinking more do, just avoid acidic foods and dairy for a few days as they may upset your stomach/gut.

Thanks both...I will send DH for dioralyte tomorrow.

Lucozade sport (the flat stuff) is good for keeping your energy up when you can't eat.

Thanks. I have been on the loo all night and this morning, still no better Sad I guess it'll shift the baby weight...

I had a horrible stomach bug 2 weeks ago (then poor little DS caught it!). It was tough going and it took me a good while to get over it. I think my supply was ok throughout but after 2 days of not eating and feeding my 11 week old every 2 hours I felt like utter crap! It was only when I started eating again that I felt better.

Wishing you a speedy recovery!
