avent sippy cup

hi all - ds won't (just screams) take a bottle with a teat now for some reason (14 weeks - always used to on his late feed no prob) I've resorted to just breastfeeding him all the time but would like to get back to a bottle of EBM every now and then as I feel like I'm on an elastic string that boings me back home once 3 hours are up! Have bought an avent sippy cup that says 3 months + and notice with interest that the teaty bit/spout fits avent bottles too. Any experience anyone with a three month ish baby and these spouts - is it worth a try?

is it the magic cup? I found them very unhygenic as mould grew in the bits.. just a thought.
I know people have success with tommee tippee teats as opposed to other ones, the bumpy ones I think

just to add- weve also had some sucess with the tomee tipee teat . I think the litte bumps make it more mommy-boobish.

I used the tommy tippe double handed ones

Mould doesn't grow on the bits of a Magic Cup if you take them apart after use to wash them.

If it is the Magic cup you're talking about though, I do't think a 3 month old would be able to use them as a non spill cup - you'd need to leave the rubbery disc out.

Not much success with the Avent cup as my 5 month old likes to chew the spout rarther than suck which means he drinks very little. I have taken out the magic disc but he doesn't like this as he gets a shock when the water pours into his mouth

Squirmy, you may find that a different sort of teat works (this is a long and tedious process, I've done it as have many others). You may of course have done this already but if not, try different varieties of latex, silicone, orthodontic, et boring cetera...I am sorry. Had this with dd2 and eventually she did take it, just as I was despairing and convinced I would have to trek over to her childminder's three times a day to proffer my bosoms.
