Have I ruined things? DD wanting to feed all the time now/did you bed in (I.e not go out first few weeks of nursing)

I've posted elsewhere - today DD has not stopped feeding and DH is concerned she's not getting enough (she's 10 days old) we FF her 60ml last night - she wouldn't stop feeding between 3.30 and10pm.
Unfortunately we went out to DD1's school fete and although I did feed her there I think it want enough. We went out for two hours today and I fed her in the local M&S cafe. Wondering if a) I am giving her enough and b) should I forget doing anything and stay at home to be on tap- and for how long? Xx

I think babies have a growth spurt around 10 days. Also called a 'frequency day' they want to feed a lot and can be fussy. Advice is to respond to their demand and feed as often as they seem to want it. If you can do that out and about, fine, but some people do prefer to stay home and cuddle up with baby

Yep - this is entirely normal and not a sign of needing formula or not getting enough. New babies often have times when they want to be close, on or near the breast, with no more than short sleeps in between times, and they may wake up distressed if put elsewhere to sleep.

Sometimes, the easiest thing is to go with that flow :) You don't normally need to stay at home though unless you want to.

I don't get why you'd think you have ruined things?? You can certainly return to full bf after a 'shot' of formula.

That sounds normal to me! Just don't assume she can go 2 hours, and expect her to cluster feed ie feed constantly in the evenings,.

Thanks guys - tonight's been a bit easier - in that she slept between 7 and now - rather than fussing and crying. DM has come over to help - we've been giving DD two top ups a day - today she's had none but imagine we may need to give one to see her through to 1am feed and so I can sleep. Have overdone things by going out today and yesterday and c section area aching. Midwife had to come round - but told me all I need is rest!

Utterly normal - don't panic - this will happen on a regular basis (google growth spurts) for the first few months. I believe by cluster feeding they're increasing your milk supply. Have a read of the Kellymom website, it'll give you some great information. My DS is now 7months and I can remember being on my knees because he was cluster feeding ALL NIGHT! .... Just remember this too will pass, it's for such a short time even though it feels like forever at the time, trust your body and your baby to do what's needed... All utter cliches but all true

We had very similar. DD is now 5 weeks but yes at 10 days she had a growth spurt. She would feed on one side, come off snooze for a minute then stir and want the other side. The longest she went for was 7 hours on and off! DH was very worried my supply wasn't enough and kept suggesting bottles/formula. I rang the breast feeding hotline (great resource) and the lady said its totally normal. Basically her feeding is sending messages to your brain to say you need to increase your supply to meet her needs.

Make sure you're comfortable. Drink plenty and snack regularly (protein is especially good) although I have a hankering for biscuits! It will get better.

we were so similar with DD and some days she just fed and fed and fed and I was convince she wasn't getting enough.

But I weighed her regularly for a few months and she grew like a weed! a lively chunky weed!

sometimes easier at home, specially in winter as free ng nipples is not good... breast feeding groups were great as no one minded boobs and feeding at all.

we also gave night feed aw bottle and I felt it a life saver. dh liked this special time with Dd too :-)
