Expressing for evening feed

Last night we gave my 8 week old a 4oz bottle of milk that I expressed in the morning. He fed again at 11 and then slept until 5. I subsequently woke with full breasts and expressed 5oz.

As he slept so well, we have done this again. But I am wondering if my milk supply will reduce if I am not doing my usual 2-3 night feeds?

It should reduce which is why it's a good idea if you can, to drop feeds one at a time (I know you're not really dropping them, just expressing at a different time). So there may be a bit of a lag time where your breasts feel very full but go with the flow (heehee) and in a few days time, as long as your little Ds stays in the same sleeping pattern, your breasts will feel less engorged.

That's said, it's quite likely that as his needs change from week to week, he may wake in the night to be fed again.
