bm supply dwindling

ds 2 is 7 weeks old initially all was going well if anything over supply which I had to pump and freeze.
over the weekend ds1 jas developed a virus which has kept him and me up most of the night and ive had added stress of dfil dying sunday morning so dh not here to help out.
Anyway im empty ive has ds 2 on me all day to try and get things going but nothing. ive resorted to giving him some formula top up as he was crying woth hunger.
I'm concerned now that this is it and I have no more to give what can I do to help mu supply

You need to rest, drink and eat plenty and let him feed feed feed.

I'm trying, to eat a bit more only had time for the odd snack over the past few days, I'm drinking plenty of dilute juice, and one or two cups of coffee. Gone to bed now dh is back hoping to get some rest. DS 2 is attached and just sucking, still not a lot coming out though

Don't worry; that sounds like a classic growth spurt in which your dc will feed continually in order to boost your supply - as I recall they happen around that time, and maybe 14 weeks too. Lots of food and drink for you, lots of feeding for your ds.

I think oats and fenugreek are good for milk supply too.

I agree with pp. sounds like a growth spurt, and this is the classic time to have one. Your supply is almost definitely not dwindling.

Stress can interfere with let down - but it is temporary.

Feeling empty does not mean you are empty.

Just having second night feed he is a good sleeper and needs some persuasion to take a full breast.
Dh has taken DS downstairs to sleep so we have had a much better rest.
I'm hoping I start feeling full again soon, I really enjoy bf, and would hate to give it up when ds2 is only 7 weeks.

Giddy, you might never feel 'full' again, in spite of producing enough milk for your son. Once your supply regulates, you produce exactly the right amount for your child, which can be one of the reasons they feed more/get frustrated during growth spurts. Feeding like this is almost like 'putting in an order' for more milk over the next few weeks/months.

Your son doesn't need to take a full breast if he seems reluctant. Have you tried puffing him on the other side when he comes off the first and vice versa? You can switch him back to the other breast as many times as you need to. Each time you switch it stimulates another let down, which will keep your DS interested in feeding, but also help increase milk supply.

The engorgement feeling disappears, now I rarely get it unless (very rarely) Ds2 only wakes up once in the night- he's 13wks now. Don't panic, it's still there :)
