7 month growth spurt?

DS is 7 months, and has slept through for the past 6 weeks. However, the last few days he has been waking at 1am then 4 am for a feed. He has at least 5oz each time (bottle fed). Is there any reason for this? He has 28 oz during the day, so I was thinking of increasing his bottle feed during the day? He has 3 meals a day as well. He has also had 2 teeth come through in the last week, so maybe its his teeth? (although they are through now, and he is not in pain, just hungry!)

could be growth spurt - is he more active as well - trying to roll or crawl?

He rolls, crawls, and just recently will hold his arms out, so that he can use me to stand Is this why then? And if so, would extra milk in the day maybe help? Thanks!

oh yes, I'm pretty sure! any extra energy he spends he needs to replace!

extra milk is good, but you could try :
-higher calorie foods such as scrambled or boiled eggs, grated cheese or avocados (and cake!!)

• extra protein such as chicken beef, salmon or pulses (protein takes longer to digest)
• high fibre foods like brown rice, oats or millets

whether you do BLW or not, I highly recommend Suzannah Olivier's book :" How to feed my baby?" for general advice and recipes.

Well, he's had some cottage pie, banana and yoghurt for dinner. He only had a couple of Oz's of milk before he went to sleep, so I won't be surprised if he wakes up. Will let you know how I get on

you could "dreamfeed him" which means give him a bottle of milk without waking him up at around 10- 11pm.

you don't need to burp him or change him, as soon as he's finished you can go to bed.

one good trick - give him a size bigger nappy for the night - it will accommodate the dream feed quantity.

I've never had any luck with dream feeds. He either stays asleep, and doesn't feed, or he wakes up, and thinks its playtime

He woke at 11:30, then at 6, so not too bad. If I can get him to take a full bottle at bed, it should help.

I think that is fantastic progress already! instead of feeding twice at 1 am & 4 am he slept for 6 hours in a row, I think that's brilliant!

yes, a full bottle at bedtime or late night feed will "tank him up"

another question - does he sleep much during the day? weirdly enough the more mine would sleep in the day the more they slept at night, not quite sure why

He had 3 naps yesterday, normally he only has 2. He only naps 40 mins at a time though

He slept through, despite only having 4oz at bedtime
