Would love some bf advice.
Ds is nearly 6mo. He is ebf and feeds every 3-4 hours day and (unfortunately!)night.
Recently his feeds have become a little odd. He constantly clamours for a feed when he is near me, sucking at my shoulder, neck, wherever. But when he actually feeds, it is a bit of a performance- pulling away, fussing, squealing, gulping, arm flailing wildly... He only feeds for a few minutes each side and doesn't seem to drain the breast. This is worse in the day but has also started happening at night.
Meanwhile I seem to have become very engorged and have been leaking everywhere. My letdown has always been strong and I'm still spraying even at nearly 6 months... I feel like I'm getting through far too many breast pads for this long after he was born!
He is a big boy but his weight plateaued over the past couple of months. Hv recommended starting solids and he is loving it. This hasn't reduced the number of bfs he has (wasn't planning that it would). He also clamours for food whenever we are eating. He is one hungry chap.
I assume he is getting what he needs and he seems well etc. but I'd love it if his feeds were calm, long and satisfying- and would keep him going longer at night...
Any thoughts?
