Curdled breastmilk

So ds seems to be on strike on one side only. Think it's probably teething related as one side seems sore and he doesn't want to lie on that side either.

He is 4 months and mix fed though only bf at night.

So that boob is getting hard and sore. I've not got a pump as hated expressing last time and swore I wouldn't do it this time. Last night I sterilised a bottle then hand expressed into it to relieve my boob. Got about 30ml in half an hour an boob went soft again. All the milk looked quite watery. Put it in fridge and today it had little curdled bits in it. Have thrown away but is this normal? Thought it could last five days in fridge.

This is normal. It's been awhile, so not sure if I still remember the exact terms, but it is the foremilk that has risen to the top. You just need to heat the bottle and then it is recommended to gently swirl it to remix the fat into the milk. Try this webpage for more info: kellymom.com/bf/pumpingmoms/milkstorage/milkstorage/

Oh bugger, shouldn't have thrown it away. Ah well was only 30ml.

I express for my kidlet, the fart rises just like with unhomogenized milk. Is normal!
Also, cold compresses help with engorgement too!

Arhhh! The fat! No farts in my breast milk!

Just checking though, this wasn't like the tip creamy and bottom watery - more like little curdled white bits floating in the watery liquid.

There could have been something in the bottle? I've expresses a very engorged boob but never curdled. If be But if out was in there maybe? Probably good to dump!

Normal. It's just stringer bits of fat.
