How long to leave 4 week old between feeds

Hi All

My baby is 4 weeks old now, for the last 2 weeks she has been sleeping 11pm-9am waking every 2.5-3hours for feeds which I am really pleased with

The last few nights she has gone 4.5 hours from the an 11pm feed - how long should I be leaving it before waking her up for the feed?

forgot to add that she is breastfed but sometimes has 1 bottle of formula at night if I fancy a drink and havn't had chance to express

I'd say don't wake unless there is a medical reason to??

That sounds like what my ds did at that age. I just feed him if he's hungry!

Congrats on your baby Smile The name of the game is to feed on demand, provided you're getting enough wet nappies so you know she's getting enough. As a rough guide, minimum 6-8 feeds across 24 hours. I was told that as long as you are feeding on demand and at least that many feeds overall, if they want to give you a longer stretch at night, then let them!

other thing I should have said - if hes hungry, hell wake up! just enjoy the extra sleepWink
