Had my beautiful baby boy on Saturday and my milk came in last night. Baby is feeding well (touch wood) but my milk smells well horrible I've not eaten anything strange. Any suggestions?

Have you spoken to the mw?

Just curious to know how you know how it smells too.....

are you expressing and feeding by bottle? If so it could be high lipase content in milk, gives it a kind of soapy taste/ smell.

It smells sour. I can smell it on my breast pads. Midwife should be here later so I will ask

The milk on your breast pads might smell a little sour, I remember that myself. If you express a little you might find it smells a bit different.

It was pretty much instant as my milk came in (didn't realise there would be so much!) will express some and give it a sniff....

Apparently it's normal for it to be a bit sour smelling! Nice feel so attractive at the moment and now I smell!
