Stopping BF and discomfort

Hello

Yesterday first thing I gave my 9 month old her final breastfed, as we're both ready to stop. The decline in feeds has been gradual. As today has gone on, one boob is absolutely fine but the other is fairly engorged and a bit tender. Is this normal and should it go away?

....accidentally pressed post before finished, doh! I'm tempted to express off a little, but then I don't want to stimulate milk either. I'm so paranoid about getting mastitis, and off on hol next week so want to do the right thing :/ x

My advice would be to gently hand express some milk until your breast feels comfortable. You will not stimulate your supply as much as your baby and supply will gradually decrease to reflect that.
