Hallo, I am a mum to be (in about 4 weeks!) and have been trying to find some practical and discreet breastfeeding tops but there aren't many around! So i came across this invention that has had rave reviews in the US but I was wondering if anyone has tried it here?
Want to know how useful it is?

More women bf in public now anyway so it's not such an extreme sport these days.

very true...and probably opart of my developement...also Internet....with ds1 I still lived in an isolated world...but the internet has opened the world to me so much...

SoupDragon - indeed, that's why I said
"if it had taken one of those awful contraptions to make me feel comfortable, I would have used one"

I definitely prefer the slurp'n'burp though

I ahven't read the whole thread just the op but this is what I did....

I bought some cheap stappy tops and made my own nursing tops, albeit quite crudely

I am v v large in the norkage area and I found that a lot of nursing tops were not adequate for me.

I cut around and removed the nork area of the strappy top so that when I put the top on my norks would out in the open IYSWIM but my belly would still be covered. I then wore a top over the starppy top which I pulled up.

So I would get comfy, undo my nursing bra, lift my outer top up and latch DD on.

So mcuh cheaper and not as faffy as some.

I did look at the bebe au lait nursing cover when pg with DD, but TBH after feeding her in public a couple of times I really didn't care what people could and couldn't see.

DustyTv · 15/11/2008 08:17

And TBH you couldn't see anything anyway, well apart from DD's head

I don't care if it draws more attention to me, I'm proud to breastfeed in public, I'm just very body conscious and I feel more comfortable using one. nothing wrong in that is there?

FairLadyRantALot · 15/11/2008 22:53

Chez, if it doesn't bother you, then why would it bother anyone else....

but of course that argument works "both" ways anyway...

better a baby is breastfed underneath a Hooter hider than not breastfed at all.

I have to agree with soup on this one. Why should an embarraced or self concious mum be made to feed stupid for wearing what makes them comfortable to give their baby the best start in life.
