DS will be 15 wks when I return to work and I need advice on how other moms have coped.I have been BF, I wanted to stick with this but cannot express enough using a hand pump.I bought a Tommy Tippee electric but am not getting anything out of it, any tips? Only other option is DH to use formula when I am at work and I breastfeed when I am there. I was also going to express at work to keep the supply up. If anyone has any thoughts/advice I would appreciate it.

I would try a good hospital grade double pump (you can hire them or have a look for second hand on ebay) such as an ameda lacteline or similar. I had a TT electric pump then switched to an ameda lacteline and the difference in amount I got was staggering.

When you pump also it really helps if you have a pic or viedo of your ds to watch to get the hormones going.

If you still find you can't pump enough then you will be able to just feed when you're with him and ff when he's with DH, your supply will adjust to that fine.

I loved the ameda lactaline too. Bought mine second hand and it was brill. Think ameda have an offer on now too.

Agree its fine to use ebm or formula and feed when you are there but you may need to talk to a BFC about returning to work. She can advice you on how to try to avoid mastitis really wish I'd thought of it at the time doh

Yes it's probably a good idea to pump or hand express for comfort if you do decide to go down the formula route.
