Another Biting Baby

My daughter is 8 months old, she bit me a few times at first when she was bored so I introduced a distraction and it stopped. Now, it's back. When she bites me I stop her feeding say "We don't bite Mommy" and then sit her up, move her away from me for a few seconds and let her start again. Sometimes I set her in "time out" where I set her on the floor for a count of five and then pick her back up and let her feed again if she wants to.

Tonight though, she was extra naughty. She asked to be fed, sucked for a few seconds and bit me, I stopped her told her not to bite, let her start again, she sucked for a little while then bit me again, I told her we don't bite, stopped her from feeding and then she wanted to feed again, this time she didn't even bother feeding she just bit me!

She also seems to enjoy my reaction and laughs when I tell her not to bite me. I don't know what to do... I've read lots of different things. Most of the time she bites me when she is finished, but tonight she asked to be fed so she could bite me and was watching me and trying to bite me sneakily to see what would happen I think, but how do you stop or discourage that? Sorry for the long post.

Some people find that feeding lying down works. Apparently some abides find it harder to bite.

We feed lying down predominantly and DD still bit. Sad

What I found worked was the absolute silence approach. When she bites say nothing and don't react. Push her head gently to the breast so that she can't breathe and has to detach and then pop her in her cot / on the floor and say nothing. Try again in a little while.

I found that if I said no, or gave a yelp, DD just thought I was funny. I tried the saying no thing for two weeks and it didn't work. The silent approach worked in about a day.

I'll try the silent thing and see how it goes, thank you!
