thrush or pregnancy nipples?

how do I know? my nipples hurt all the time and really hurt for the first few sucks and then feel fine and for an hour or so after feeding OK.

but it crossed my mind that dd (1yo) and I are both struggling with vaginal thrush at the mo and I'm wondering whether it might actually be that. I can't really see anything on my nipples) but don't know what I'm looking for really.

I'm 4 months pg.

anyone?

Hi there,

My 10 week old son had thrush when he was a few weeks old and his tongue had a thick white furry coating on it. More than a 'milky' looking tongue if you know what I mean. It transferred onto my nipple which didn't look any different to usual to be honest but the pain during feeding was excruciating. I found a shield helped while the thrush was treated.

reassuring thanks! pretty sure her tongue is fine but I'll check in the morning.

really don't want it to be thrush but this pain continuing is not cool either!!

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and have the same pain for a few seconds when DD latches on. Very sore! I'm guessing if it was thrush it would hurt for the whole feed, but not sure really. Her tongue is normal though so I think in my case it is just pregnancy nipples.

Thrush pain in nipple really burns and very sore. I find pain worse at start of feed. I have had it a number of times and my LO has never had symptoms. If you have other thrush infections I would think likley you can have it on nipples. The daktarin cream takes burning away in day or two
