What do I need to know about expressing?

DD is almost 4 weeks and I have a breast pump ready to go. I would like to express daily so that DH can do a feed.
How much would a small baby be likely to need? I have no idea! Can I keep it in the fridge then bring it out 10 mins before a feed to bring it up to room temp?

There's a really good section on kellymom website with lots if info on expressing.
I found evening/ nighttime good time to express as seemed to make more then. You can keep BM in fridge for up to 5 days and it freezes well too. Not sure on amounts for a four week old though. I used to heat up BM in bottle in a jug of hot water until it was just warm when tested on inside of wrist.

I exclusively expressed for 10 weeks and, at four weeks, DS would take around 3oz a time.

The morning, around an hour after the 7am ish feed, always seemed a particularly good time to express.

And i'd just take milk out of the fridge to get it to room temp but, tbh, DS wasn't fussy and was happy to have it on the cold side.
