Water for baby?

I have been breastfeeding and am about to start weaning. I understand this is when I also have to start giving water to baby.
My question is I usually put our tap water through a Brita water filter before boiling in the kettle for our hot drinks. For boiling baby's water can I continue to do this, or am I just supposed to put tap water directly into the kettle and not use the Brita filter?

no you can continue to use your filter that's fine!

how old is he? if he is 6 months or over he can just have water straight from the filter... no need to boil

I have only used the Brita water since our DD was 6 months old for her bottle or water cup. I never boiled the water. Hope it helps DanielMummy.

You don't have to give water yet, i think WHO guidelines say bf alone for 6 mths is fine.
