Ebf to bottlefed...any tips?

Hi

Dd is now 5 months old. She has been ebf up until now, but I need to start her on bottles, prior to my return to work in June.

My son took a bottle well around the same time but she seems to be struggling a bit. I know I should have tried it sooner really but the feeding was going so well and she was very ill for 2 months in hospital so I just wanted to stick with it really.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips or suggestions I could try. She gets very stressed when I try to offer the bottle and she is normally very laid back. My husband has tried also.

Tia x

You don't need to give her a bottle, at that age you could go straight to a cup which might be easier?

I've been persevering for a week now. Still no joy.

I'm starting to resent having breastfed now. Still up every 2 hours, can't leave her for longer than 2 hours and now the stress of trying to get her onto a bottle when all my friends formula fed babies are big, healthy, sleeping through and can be left so their mums have a bit of a life
Argh!!!!

Have you tried a cup?
I know your pain, my DS also fed every two hours. If its any consolation, he started going longer between feeds when he started weaning and eating a decent amount of food.

What type of cup? My childminder won't give milk from an open type cup as she doesn't have the time. I've got to try and come up with something within the next 4 weeks as she starts then.

My daughter is tiny still and health visitor and pediatrician have not advised weaning until 8 months as she had issues with weight

What about a sippy cup? Just a to me tippee basic type one?

How long does she need to be with the childmi dear each day?

I go back to a a 48 hour week so she will be there 6 hours a day. My plan is to stop breastfeeding now and I was hoping to drop a feed a week....plan not going to plan!!
