Baby suddenly refusing bottle at 23 weeks

DS is EBF apart from one bottle of formula at night. He has had this bottle without problems since a few weeks old. He is a very hungry baby, up a lot at night, so this bottle is my lifeline for others being able to give me a break for either sleep or social reasons.

For the last two nights he has refused to take the bottle from either DH or me. He has had boob instead. DS is having frequent small soft poos and has a sore bottom. If he's teething there's no sign of them beyond indents in the gums and he's had those for months.

What do I do to get him to start having a bottle again? Dream feed? Daytime feed? Wait a few days until bottom better?

I am panicking at being condemned to no more than 3 hours sleep at a time if I can't get the bottle restarted.

Have you tried a cup? Have a read of this too and if you search the old threads there will be lots on bottle refusal.
