My baby is 8 weeks and I'm wanting advice on how I can fully wean myself to formula feeds ? He has had a bottle of formula at 3 am ish every night since he was about 3 weeks, and I now do a lunchtime feed with formula, when I breast feed him I do about ten mins each side.whats next? How do I make it less on me? Without causing mastitis or pain, I want to be fully stopped by June as I'm going on holiday and it would cause complications for me and baby, please any advice is great.

The advice is to drop feeds slowly. Replacing one feed each week with formula should be slow enough to prevent any problems. Drop another feed to formula next week, and then go to formula every other feed. Continue each week until you are on breast first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Then drop the last feeds one at a time. Since you have till June you can go even slower than that and perhaps drop one every two weeks if you would prefer to breastfeed for longer, but it isn't necessary. If you feel pain while you are dropping feeds, express a little milk but not more than you need to to relieve the engorgement. if you express too much then your breasts are not getting the message to stop producing.
