When does lactation stop?

DS is now 2.7 and I stopped breastfeeding two years ago when I went back to work. Is it unusual to still be lactating slightly this long after finishing breastfeeding? It's not much, but it's there, and I still occasionally leak slightly when I'm not wearing a bra. (They're gonna end up like spaniel's ears, I just know it!)

is the doctor at all worried?
wear a bra!

i have heard stories of grandmothers lactating in response to distress of grandchild, i think in serious cases like death during childbirth of mother and no milk etc. may be an oldwives tale, maybe tryue?
the human body is a mysterious thing.

crikey I still had some around when I met dp and that was 4 yrs after finishing feeding ds!
With dd now 3.5 (stopped feeding 16 mths) I still get the odd trickle Blush

It can happen, if it's from both sides and there's no blood it's unlikely to be anything to worry about but it might be worth getting your GP to do a blood test for prolactin levels. HTH.
