Blocked milk duct/ mastitis

Hello, I've got a blocked duct which is now infected (discovered this by nearly passing out in the middle of ASDA!) and I've been advised to feed and express as much as possible, does any one know if I can store the milk I'm expressing as usual or if I have to throw it away? It seems such a waste to throw it! :) xx

You can use it. Sometimes it tastes different and some babies don't like it though. Have you got antibiotics?

I have mastitis at the moment too - just turning the corner I think. I feel for you.

Oh you poor thing, there is no pain like it. And it comes on so suddenly. Really hope you have got antibiotics and see starting to geek normal again. It's gone to give the expressed milk to baby. You can actually fed off it like normal. But I know that can be really sore. I always tried to express the sore boob in the bath. It helper me relax as I use to get really tense about how much it was going to hurt. However you can only realistically get in the bath once a day, and you need to keep the boob really empty so try and express every couple of hours and instead to the bath pop a warm flannel over the affected area. Really hope you get better soon xx
