Projectile vomiting after taking formula bottle?

I want to introduce one formula bottle for my baby... He has been taking breast milk only til now (expressed in a bottle) but when I tried him on a bottle of aptimil yesterday he projectile vomited everywhere an hour or so later. I was wondering if this is normal when formula is introduced (maybe he needs a few days to ge used to it) or whether I should try another brand of formula- any suggestions appreciated.

We have same issue gp thinks due to allergy but have had on number of occasions. If just once it might be a coincidence.

Could be a coincidence or could be a cow's milk protein allergy. If it happens again I would investigate further. There are modified formulas available if it is an allergy.

Thanks a mil for responses. It happened 2 days in a row, after DH fed. Was a bit suspicious he was takin shortcuts with winding (ie not bothering to!) so I fed baby the formula yesterday - I reduced the amount by an ounce (as i read thst formula is thicker and they may not be able to keep as much down)and topped up with bm and it seems to have worked. Fingers crossed anyway! Thanks again.
