Woke this morning with very full feeling right boob. Odd I thought, but DS (11 months) had completed a rare 5 hour uninterrupted stint of sleep during the night so put it down to that. Fed him. Still there. Expressed using pump. Still there and only got about 10mls. Also tiny white spot on end of nipple. Looked it up and been dutifully massaging, hot shower, frequent nursing or expressing. Also hand expressed. Also had him feed with my boob dangling. Not budging. My questions are as follows:
When should I worry? I feel fine at the mo, no temp etc so don't think it's mastitis, yet.
Should I burst white blip with something sterile?
Should I get up during the night to express? DS normally up regularly but don't want to neglect the left side.
All I am doing is draining the new milk at the mo. Surely all this expressing and nursing will stimulate more milk and make me more uncomfy?
Aaaaaahhh - so sore. This hasn't happened to me before. Was actually thinking smugly that my bf had gone so smoothly. Serves me right I suppose.
