I could not find the right category to post this question so I have posted it here as it seems the most relevant section.
I had DD 3 years ago and breastfed for 9 months. For the first 6 weeks she was awake from 8pm until 4am every night and just screamed! I would feed her, she would do a huge vomit where basically everything just came back up, I would lay her somewhere screaming while I cleaned up all the sick, then go back and try and comfort her but she would just keep screaming. So I would feed her, she would be sick again, I would clean up again etc. until approx 4am in the morning when she would zonk out. In the day she fed like a dream and was hardly ever sick. She was my first experience of a baby and so I just assumed this was normal. But a few of my friends have had babies now, and they do not do this (although all are formula fed).
What can I do differently this time? I can't cope with 2 hours sleep a night for 6 weeks with a 3 year old to look after as well, and don't want to be stripping beds etc every night full of sick as I am having a c - section this time. Was my DD normal for a breastfed baby? Or did she have some kind of reflux (only just heard about reflux) or was she over feeding? She did not have a dummy would this of helped her to settle?
Help me please! x
