Well this is annoying. Just as we'd got DS2 feeding well and starting to sleep a bit longer. Have changed to cow and gate comfort which seems ok, but what happens when we rub out of our gaviscon stash?!

Make sure that you get his prescription in advance of running out?

I spoke to my GP about this as I am worried DS is so used to his milk being thicker with the gaviscon in he will struggle without. GP said we could try a thickener to aid the consistency problem and other medicine for the reflux. See your GP or HV if your stocks are low.

molotov there's no point having a prescription if the pharmacies cannot get it in because of a supply problem. DH is a pharmacist so if anyone can get it he can!

I guess I'll ask the gp for ranitidine instead if DS can't manage without anything. We have an appointment tomorrow.

I wasn't aware of the supply problem, bozo. My post may have come across as flippant, which it wasn't supposed to. I second what sharond said. Good luck :)

There is a thickener available called Carobel. You can buy it over the counter, although not all pharmacies keep it in so they may have to order it for you. Don't use too much though as it makes it a bit thicker than Gaviscon and the comfort milk is already slightly thicker. You may need a variflo teat.
