boob ache

Im in absolute agony. My boob feels so bruised and sore. It also has a massive lump which goes behind the nipple which makes it impossible to get a latch on. Ive had two weeks anti biotics and when im not sleepibg im expressing manually cos a pump doesnt work on it. Its a miserable existance!! :-D has anyone had to have the lumpy bit drained before? Im at my wits end and want to know whats done, thanks

Did it start as mastitis? I have it three times, but it didn't turn into a lump. Have you been back to the GP, as it sounds like an abscess?

I had a suspected abcess drained a couple of weeks ago. It was relatively painless compared to the pain of mastitis. They also use local first to numb the area first.

I had to have four weeks of antibiotics and breast still felt a little lumpy for a couple if weeks after that.

They drained a bit out... Without a local!! It killed. I have to go back thursday so they can drain more. I will top myself up with pain relief. Mcbaby i think you were lucky i feel worse now than i did before i went to see them.

Did your supply go back up after it was sorted? I can hardly get anything out of it and i have to do it by hand because the pump doesnt get anything. The good boobs fine though.

It definatly started as mastitis sittinginthesun, i was anti biotics for about two weeks but i knew it wasnt sorting itself out because i was spending all day manually expressing sitting in the bath or shoving a warm flannel on it and massaging but the lump would not go. Its this passed week where it turned into a nasty massive lump which makes my boob look deformed.
