Growth spurt?

DD from 5pm last night literally didn't move off the boob until after 11pm. She then slept until 5.30am, ate for an hour, and back to sleep from 6.30 until after 9.

Today, she's had a big morning feed, half an hour kip on DH, and on the boob since 11am.

She's been fussy with her naps this week (ie not really taking them!), and seems to have had bigger morning feeds the last two days. Until yesterday morning I was easily expressing 2oz after the first morning feed. Yesterday and today I'm lucky if I've got half an oz.

She's 7 weeks and ebf.

I basically need someone to reassure me this is a growth spurt and my milk isn't drying up! She's not the settled, happy baby she was in between feeds ATM (well, she is for maybe half an hour here and there), but other than that it's just boob boob boob, and if she doesn't get it, it's the end of the world.

I thought we'd had a growth spurt a week past Tuesday as she did the same for a day then, and I quietly congratulated her and myself that it was only one evening.

Lots of wet and dirty nappies, and she is putting on weight (10.5oz last week and 2.5oz this week which they were happy with given the huge gain the week before).

Sounds like another growth spurt to me. From my experience with both DS', this whole "they only have them at 10 days, 3 weeks, 6 weeks" etc. is a big fat lie, they have both managed to get extra ones in in between in the first three months. Also there's a developmental spurt/"wonder week" around 8 weeks that can make them go a bit unhinged/boob-crazy as well. Basically this time round I just assumed that on any given day during the first three months I might end up pinned to the couch by a demented baby, so at least when it happened I just grumbled and got on with it.

Thanks, leedy. Am v paranoid about her weight/feeding due to issues to begin with so that's what I needed to hear Thanks
