Hi.
DS3 is 6 months and bf. I did express at the beginning and gave a few bottles, then didn't for two weeks and has refused all bottles of formula ever since. Was thinking of trying some new bottles. Can I express now, will I need to built it up? Keep doing a bit a day? Any advice?

I'm afraid I don't really have much advice as I just expressed and didn't bf due to medical issues. I'd say it would be best to just take off a few ounces at a time - you can take them off the other breast while he feeds if you like. Then you can gradually increase the amount you take off if he accepts the bottle.

I'm happy to be corrected though!

I've expressed and had a gap of a week or so at a time. I do it in the morning and express off one side then DD feeds off the other side afterwards. If she needs more she will go on the side I've expressed from with no problems.
If I've not done it for a while I may only get a couple of ounces off but a few days later I'll be getting 5-6 oz at a time.
I think you'll be five especially if you do it in the morning. Good luck and FX!

Just a thought that it might be as well trying the expressed milk in a sippy cup rather than a bottle since he's that little bit older.

Hope it goes well.

Sorry only getting back now Ladies. Thank you for the advice. I expressed a couple of ounces ok today. But he was very out of sorts- he has two teeth and they are hurting I think. Some one linked to an Avent supply cup/ bottle thing here the other day. I'm going to try that. Thanks.
