Poorly bf baby

My baby has been poorly for almost a week now. He's vomited on Saturday night, then had diarrhoea and at the same time a very high temperature. It's been going on for almost a week now. He's had nothing but breastmilk. Tonight he showed some interest in my dinner and I took it as a sign he was getting better and fed him some chicken and veggies. However he has now vomited 5 times.
What do I do? I took him to my GP yesterday and she was not worried. I'm so worried

I would take him back to the gp.
diarrhoea can take an awfully long time to go away, two weeks is not uncommon, but all the other symptoms together are worrying.
keep on bf as much as he wants.

Try NHS direct for advice maybe.

What did the GP say. Does she think it's just a virus? I'd be concerned that it had gone on for a week but the main thing is to make sure that your baby is taking on liquid. If he's keeping down milk and having wet nappies that's a good sign. My children went off their food for several days when ill.

Do check temperature though and make sure there are no rashes that don't fade when pressed with a glass. Excessive sleepiness is also something to look out for. Do contact your out of hours GP if your baby sleeps too much and can't be roused easily.

Has he had the temp for the whole week? If so I'd definitely take him back to the doctor tomorrow.

Definitely continue to bf as much as he wants to keep him
hydrated.

Have you checked for a rash?

If you're really worried tonight or he deteriorates then call your out of hours gp, I've had several middle of the night dashes to the OOH with ds1 (and no doubt will with ds2 as well) it's always better to check it out if you're worried.

Thanks! I called the OOH service last night and they weren't worried enough to ask me to bring him in.
I'll call my GP again this morning and see about getting another appointment.
Is breastmilk enough for a whole week though? At his age, isn't he going to lose lots of weight if he has nothing else?

bf is fine. it has plenty of calories.
he might lose a bit of weight but will catch up easily when better!
