I have a beautiful 4 month old DD. She is my fourth. Was born on 50th centile, rose to just above91st centile after 2 weeks. 2 weeks ago, I took her to the clinic to be weighed. She'd slipped to just below the 91st centile.
On Wednesday, the health visitor came to do a four month check. She'd gained 9 oz in 2 weeks, at 16lb 4oz this put her just above the 75th centile. The HV seemed concerned about this, said I should get her weighed again in two weeks, and if she's gone any further down the centiles, I need to seriously consider early weaning. DD will be 20 weeks at this point. I had attended a sure start baby group the week before, where they had a weaning talk by the same HV. She'd stressed how important it was to wait as close to 6 months as possible before introducing solids.
I feel a bit rubbish, to be honest. I've ebf for four months, yet I feel as though I'm being told I'm not nurturing my baby enough. I have issues from DD1, who was failing to thrive. It doesn't help that I don't feel as though I have enough milk, and DD is constantly feeding during the day this week. I've tried pumping to increase my supply, but can only get 20ml!
