I need help, my almost 4 month son has suffered very bad colic, so far I've manged it with infacol, gripe water, massaging, and various winding positions. I've been to the GP and been told its JUST colic. Sad

The past two days nothing has worked. Sad
He's not drinking the amounts he usally does. It's not him. What's next? My mum surgested trying solid food.

Think offering solid food would have been acceptable in your Mums day but now the recommendation is 6 months, personally I'd only introduce solids at 4 months on the advice of a Paed.

Could you go back to the GP and ask for a referral and some allergy testing?

I'd get a paed referral. Rule out intolerances, reflux (silent and normal), constipation, tongue tie.

My DD has had colic very badly, I've done lots of research and I would really give probiotics a try, either BioGaia or BabyBiotic .

Once colic doesn't shift at 3 months it is so difficult to cope, my daughter has silent reflux too and dairy intolerance which is another story but I think that probiotics do seem to be worth a try with colic.

DS had terrible colic from early on - screaming from 7pm to 5am more or less solidly some nights. Colief helped, but cranial osteopathy sorted it out.

What bonzo77 says too - i.e. is it colic now he is past the 12 week mark? Silent reflux presents very similarly to colic, and a possible dairy intolerance also is worth a thought.
