Weight GAIN (sorry to start another weight thread...)

Is anyone else gaining while ebf? I love ebf, but it gives me a massive appetite and glues me to a sofa a lot. Not a good combination. When I FF the weight melted off, but this time it's creeping the wrong way. Has anyone else had this? I need to get a sensible handle on appetite, does anyone have tips? I'd be embarrassed to share what I eat, it's huge! I'm lucky to still be slimish (5'9, 10.7 as opposed to normal 8.10, 10.4 when I came home) but I want to avoid gaining, and ideally would like to slowly loose. DD is only 6 weeks so loosing isn't a huge deal, but I don't want to get into a pattern of over-eating and gaining. Does your appetite calm? tips?

Sorry. That happens to me too. Being stuck to the sofa with sugar cravings and a metabolism that appears to have slowed due to the birth means weight gain is a sure thing.

TBH I'm cross that the NHS literature puts down weight loss as a 'reason' to bf, as I have read plenty of research that shows it to be bollocks. IF you were skinny before you fell pg, there is 'some' evidence to show that you lost it again and a bit more. IF you were overweight, it seems to point the other way.

You can try going for walks?

I drink lots of water. Keep fruit nearby for snacks. Go easy on sweet things and go for plenty of walks. I am going to baby massage class and hoping to go to pilates to improve tummy muscle tone. Good luck

6 weeks is still very early. I have had 2 dc's and bf both. Yes the initial sitting down and eating loads did lead to weight gain but give it a couple of months and things soon change. I have not changed my diet. Still eat healthy but do enjoy the treats too and with both babies I have ended up smaller than I was pre pregnancy by 9 months. Your shape does change with each pregnancy so clothes will not necessarily fit the same and your weight may fluctuate. My boobs are still big as still bf at 10 months so that distorts my shape a bit and means a lot of clothes don't fit but I'm actually smaller iykwim!

starlight-I'm pretty good at getting out for walks, just been out, however I have a 2.5 yr old walking alongside so hadly power walking!

habhan- I could do classes last time, but not with two now

My diet is healthly, just vast amounts of food, big hearty meals, eg cheesy mash or huge portions of casserole. I cook from scrach for everything, I just munch comfort food

moojie-I was smaller after last time, lots of enjoyable pram walking as opposed to desk sitting. My boobs are stuffed in a 32 F right now, which knocks out most tops!

I think both boredom and tiredness gives you the munchies too.

I have this! Although I need to weigh myself really to be sure, but I look bigger and feel enormous :(

I've started to keep track of what I'm eating using my fitness pal and I have about 1300 calories each day - that doesn't seem like loads to me!
