DRYING UP ADVICE FOR OVERSUPPLY/CABERGOLINE

Hi all - has anyone used Cabergoline to dry up their milk supply? After 7 months of blocked ducts, milk blisters on both sides and a bout of mastitis I've decided to call it a day on breastfeeding, although I feel really sad about it. I've been prescribed Cabergoline by my GP following advice from a breastfeeding counsellor as I have an over-supply issue (which explains the constant problems).

I have taken 2 tablets last night and have been told to take 2 x 1/2 tablets for the next 2 days. I'm engorged already and to be honest feeling a bit scared about the risk of blockages and also whether it will hurt. I've been told not to touch my breasts or express any off. I'm wearing a supportive nursing bra and will keep it on/avoid showers for the next couple of days. Any advice from people who've been in this situation would be really reassuring - thanks.

Not sure sorry. Could the BFC who suggested it help?

I know this is a really old post but @MelodyLee I'd love to know how you got on. I am having the exact same issue with blocked ducts, mastitis since 6 months & now at 10 months EBF and I'm finding it impossible to stop without getting sick. I'm really sick of being sick and wondering about cabergoline.
