DS is nearly 8m and has been biting for a few wks now (only has 2 little teeth bless) I've been saying a firm 'NO' and taking him off. During the day not too bad as he's mixed fed so only occasional bf. The main issue is during the night, we co-sleep and the biting is getting worse. Last night really bad but he's loaded with the cold poor thing. At 5am I'd to pull him off completely and had to leave him crying as he'd bitten me about 3 times (an angry cry not an upset cry). Do I just keep going with the 'NO' and he'll eventually get the idea?
He's teething, dont think I can handle him having the top teeth in too Shock

Afraid my only suggestion is to try different positions. Ds bites far more when we're both laid down. Doesn't help if you want to Co sleep though.

Unfortunatly co sleeping is the only way he'll sleep....I'm trying to cut down his bf at night using NCSS. So tired though I keep forgetting about them Confused

Personally I don't think a baby that age can understand "no". My baby laughs when I yelp in pain! I don't think he is a sadist, I think he just totally does not understand that he is hurting mummy. So I try not to react to the biting in case it encourages him (easier said than done)

I have noticed that mine mainly bites when he is bored, doesn't really want to feed or wants to change sides, so I just try and stay super alert to take him off before the biting starts. Doesn't totally stop it but I think it helps a bit. Sorry I can't come up with anything better!
