Green poo in newborn

I've seen people post about this a few times but hope someone can put my mind at rest. DS is 2 wks old and has had over a week of mustard colour normal nappies. He is ebf and I've just done his nappy and it was greenish poo.

What should I be worried about?

I'm going to baby clinic tomorrow anyway so I can get him checked then

mustard poo - bf/ff is going well, baby's weight is going up

green poo after mustard poo - perhaps baby took on a little bit less milk, so you might find weight is dropped slightly or stayed the same or increased less then before.

if it is consistently green AND baby's not putting on weight AND bf is problematic baby might have trouble feeding/latch on properly due to tonue-tie, so definitely get that checked tomorrow!

no need to worry though for now, next poo will probably be ok again!

I presume DS has lots of wet nappies as well

DS got green poo when he was coming down with a cold - and similarly after his 2nd set of jabs, though yours is too little for that. It can mean a virus.

Some theories say too much foremilk can also cause green poo, but the idea of foremilk/hindmilk is falling out of favour now.

My DS is 9 weeks and we had a full week of green poo at around the 6 week mark. Tried the suggested things in case it was to do with fore/hind imbalance but didnt make much difference during that week. then all of a sudden it returned to mustard colour and i was none the wiser what it was about. he continued to gain weight and seemed happy and healthy throughout.

I think I read on here that green poo in a happy content baby is not a cause for concern so I liked that advice and decided not to worry too much!

One green nappy is nothing to worry about! it may well be yellow again next time. Just adding to what others have said.

Thanks folks nappies have seemed ok since then so hopefully it was just a one off

Green pop is sign of too much lactose, getting too much foremilk instead of hindmilk..my lactation consultant recommended laid back bf and to try udos infant blend probiotics to improve lo gut

Sorry to hijack but 3 week old ds mix fed 50/50 and has green poo much of the time with yellow some of the time. Should I be concerned?
