Medela mini electric vs swing

Just wondering if anyone knows if there is much difference between the two? I loved my swing but I sold it as I didn't expect to be having any more babies. But we are expecting DC4 and with a high risk of another premmie so I want to be prepared with a pump just in case.

TIA

The mini electric is plug in only so you need to be near a plug when using it. You can walk about with the swing as it takes batteries. The swing has a let down setting but the mini doesn't - it has a dial setting with the speed on it.

I bought the mini after the swing but was quite disappointed. My swing broke after DD1 but I thought the mini would be just as good but it wasn't. In the end got used a few times and now I'm thinking of ebaying it. I actually hand expressed rather than use the mini! For some reason this worked better. If I had had the money I would have got a swing - they're far better (and nearly twice the price!)

I had a mini the first time and a swing the second time - both off ebay. I found the swing was more efficient. I don't walk around pumping so the battery option wasn't meaningful, but the let-down function on the swing was good.

I wonder if I can convince DH that another swing would be good? I'm a bit cautious about buying off of eBay and there being any risk of infection being passed on from the previous mother. I could sell mine in good faith knowing that I had been screened for lots of things being a breast milk donor. I'm just a bit uneasy about buying second hand if I want to donate again.

I love my swing pump! It really helped me when DD was I'll and feeding less. I find it very effective.
